**** How long has it been since you’ve been to a pay-one-price double feature at the movie theater? This Saturday, Sept. 6, in keeping with the weekend’s Car Show theme, the Clover Theater, 121 E. First St., will show a special auto-related double feature. First up at 11 a.m. will be “Bullitt,” the 1968 movie starring the late Steve McQueen as an all-guts, no-glory San Francisco cop, followed at 1:30 p.m. by “Grand Prix,” the 1966 American action film with an international cast. Regular ticket prices apply.
**** The Cloverdale Volunteer Firefighters Association will have a booth at this Saturday’s Car Show where they will be selling tickets to their Annual BBQ Dinner & Street Dance slated for Sept. 13 at the Citrus Fairgrounds. In addition, Certified CPR Instructors will be in the booth providing CPR demonstrations and giving hands-on training of proper CPR techniques. Look for them at the corner of First St. and Cloverdale Blvd. 894-3545.
**** The next series of Building a Better Business workshops, sponsored by the Community Alliance for Financial Empowerment (CAFÉ), will begin on Thursday, Sept. 11. The six-session series is designed to assist Cloverdale residents who are interested in starting a business. There is no cost to attend any of the workshops, however, due to space limitations, reservations are requested.
