Clover Theater celebrates its grand re-opening
Saturday morning before 10 a.m., people started lining the sidewalks around the Clover Theater on East First Street in anticipation of the recently reopened theater’s ceremonial ribbon cutting ceremony.
Supporters who contributed to the online Kickstarter campaign that raised more than $60k for new projection equipment, received invitations from owners Ryan and Kathryn Hecht to a special free screening of “Raiders of the Lost Ark,” Hecht’s all-time favorite movie, immediately following the ceremony.
Response to their invitation was so overwhelming, they scheduled a second screening Sunday morning for those who were unable to attend the first one.
“We have big dreams for The Clover: new screens (3D is still our first priority but we think we’ll have to get through the summer before we can begin construction), a fully renovated lobby with updated bathrooms, and continued partnerships with local vendors for concessions that ‘wow.’ None of this would be possible, however, were it not for your generosity that helped us open the doors in the first place.”
The Hechts say they are extremely grateful for the ongoing support they have received. “The numbers look good, attendance has been robust, and clearly, Cloverdale is super excited to have its theater back.”
That works out perfectly because the Hechts say they are super excited to be here.
