Sonoma County Chamber Singers

Sonoma County Chamber Singers return to Cloverdale at 7 p.m. this Saturday, March 9, to present their 2013 Spring Concert, “Faith, Folk Songs and Flowers” at the United Church of Cloverdale, 439 N. Cloverdale Blvd

The Chamber Singers will engage the audience with the beauty of choral music, an art form that is participatory, inclusive and immediately accessible due to its reliance on the first and most moving musical instrument – the human voice.

Their repertoire will include a performance of J.S. Bach’s timeless choral masterwork, “Jesu, meine Freude,” along with short sacred works by Mozart, György Orbán, Moses Hogan and René Clausen. The Singers will also offer a bouquet of flower songs by leading contemporary American composers, including David C. Dickau and Morten Lauridsen, as well as sumptuous choral settings of gorgeous folk songs.

Sponsored by the Cloverdale Arts Alliance, this concert, like all of their concerts, are free, however, tax-deductible contributions, which go directly to the Chamber Singers, are always welcome.

For more information, call 894-4410.

  1. LOVE the Sonoma County Chamber Singers, and they LOVE singing in Cloverdale too! There will be a reception immediately after the concert at the First Street Gallery. Come meet some of the singers. All are welcome!

    • I SURE DID LIKE THE MUSIC THAT THE CHOIRS AT SANTA ROSA HIGH SCHOOL, UNDER THE DIRECTION OF DAN EARL, DID SEVERAL YEARS AGO. WONDERFUL MUSIC ALONG WITH THE SING ALONG MESSIAH. KEEP SINGING THOSE GREAT SONGS, SANTA ROSA HIGH SCHOOL AND SONOMA COUNTY CHAMBER SINGERS!
