The week in Cloverdale: Feb. 3 to 9

~ The Gary Johnson Quintet will perform from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 3, at Ruth McGowan’s Brewpub, 131 E. First St.  No cover charge.  894-9610.

~ Bruce Halbohm will entertain diners from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 7 at Piacere Ristorante Italiano, 504 N. Cloverdale Boulevard. No cover.  894-0885.

~ Creative ReStore is open from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. every Friday and Saturday at the Cloverdale Senior Center, 311 N. Main St.  Donated fabric, yarn, patterns, thread, buttons, craft kits and other supplies are offered for sale to the community at rock bottom prices during this weekly fundraiser for the Senior Center.  894-4826.

~ The Hired Guns will perform great covers and original American influenced music from 6:30 to 9:30 on Friday, Feb. 8 at Ruth McGowan‘s Brewpub, 131 E. First Street. The Guns musicians are Adam Herman and Jonathan Ungles, on guitars, harmonics and mandolin, and features banjo man Chaz Woody with Anselmo Majia on percussion. Their styles include Bluegrass, Ragtime, Folk Blues and Rockabilly music. Also on the menu are original songs by three of the band members. Each one brings to these songs his own mode of expression. No cover charge. 894-9610.

~ A limited number of dinners at $20 each will be prepared and served by Patti & Friends Catering from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 8 in the Vino di Amore Tasting Lounge, 105 N. Cloverdale Blvd.  For dinner choices and reservation information, visit them online.  From 7:30 to 10 p.m., two of Cloverdale’s favorites, Bobby Lee on steel guitar and Oscar Calderon on vocals and percussion and Hector Calderon will perform a diverse mix of musical styles, including rock, fund, country and reggae. Wine is available for purchase by the glass or the bottle, as well as a variety of non-alcoholic beverages. No cover charge. 894-6616.

~ An Artists’ Reception for the current “Bright Beginnings” exhibit, featuring oils by Cloverdale’s Janice Cralle’ and woodturner Dennis Lasher of Sebastopol will take place from 5 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 9 at The Towers Gallery, 240 N. Cloverdale Blvd. Complimentary wine from Musetta Wines, poured by Dawn and Chris Lindelof, as well as hors d’oeuvres, raffle prizes and live music with award winning singer-songwriter Larry Kenneth Potts, featuring Americana, Contemporary Folk Country and Jazz selections. ~ An Opening Reception for the current “Untamed Palettes” exhibit, featuring works by  artists Ellen Boulanger, Cathy Hasen, Sharon Kozel, Paul Maurer, Beverly McChesney, Marian Murphy and Sher’ Morris-Tice will take place from 5 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 9 at the First Street Gallery, 105 E.
