Cloverdale “circles the wagons” for Cici
Cloverdale has always had a reputation for being a community of volunteers that “circle the wagons” when one of their own needs help.
That’s exactly what’s happening this Saturday night from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Citrus Fair when the Cloverdale Lions and the Cloverdale Kiwanis team up to host a joint fundraising dinner to benefit Cici and Ken Richardson.
Cici was recently diagnosed with cancer and funds from the event will help defray the mounting medical bills as she undergoes treatment.
The Richardsons have both been long time active community supporters. Ken is a member of the Lions Club and Cici belongs to Kiwanis.
A 1981 graduate of El Molino High School, she’s worked at the Animal Hospital of Cloverdale since 2002 and is often the first person people see when they bring their pets in for care
Whether she’s dancing her heart out at Friday Night Live or dressing up in costume for the Citrus Fair Parade, a Lions Club event or, as her bio on the Animal Hospital’s website says, “for no reason at all,” friends say the first word that comes to mind when they think of Cici is “joy.”
The evening will begin at 5 p.m. with an hour long no-host social hour with a full bar, followed by a Pasta Dinner from 6 to 8 p.m.
Dinner tickets are $20 each and can be purchased at the Animal Hospital, 20 Industrial Dr., or at The Mail Center, 207-A N. Cloverdale Blvd. The catered dinner is being donated by the Hamburger Ranch.
For those unable to attend, but still wanting to help, donations can be made to the Ken and Cici Richardson Fund at any branch of Exchange Bank.
