~ 15th annual Cloverdale Lions Club Motorcycle Toy Run begins with registration at 9 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 2 at the Citrus Fair. Admission is one new unwrapped toy. Ride with Santa from Noon to 1 p.m., and then come back to the fairgrounds for a free BBQ from 1 to 2 p.m. 894-7326.
~ The Gary Johnson Quintet performs from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 2, at Ruth McGowan’s Brewpub, 131 E. First St. No cover charge. 894-9610.
~ Starting at 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 3, watch the New York Giants take on the Washington Redskins at Washington during Monday Night Football on one of the three big screen TV’s in the Vino di Amore Wine Tasting Lounge, 105 N. Cloverdale Boulevard. Wine is available for purchase by the glass or the bottle, as well as water, coffee and other non-alcoholic beverages. No cover charge. 894-6166.
~ School age children ages 5 & up are invited to learn how to make a Gingerbread House from a milk carton and graham crackers starting at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 5 at the Cloverdale Library, 401 N. Cloverdale Blvd. This free event is hosted by Friends of the Cloverdale Library and all materials will be provided. Pre-registration is not required. 894-5271.
~ A “Tree of Remembrance” ceremony will begin at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 5 at the Fred Young Funeral Home, 428 N. Cloverdale Blvd. with Father Ed Howell of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church officiating. Residents are invited to stop by, hang an ornament on the tree and light a candle in memory of their loved one. This is a free event and refreshments will be served. 894-2540.
~ Holiday Blues, a free drop-in grief support group for those dealing with the loss of a loved one who would like additional support getting through the holidays, will take place from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 6 at the Cloverdale Senior Center, 311 N. Main St. Hosted by Memorial Hospice/North County Hospice, this program is offered free of charge. Individual, child and family grief support is also available. ~ Bruce Halbohm will entertain diners from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 6 at Piacere Ristorante Italiano, 504 N. Cloverdale Boulevard. No cover. 894-0885.
~ Crafter’s Boutique from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. every Friday and Saturday at the Cloverdale Senior Center, 311 N. Main St. Donated fabric, yarn, patterns, thread, buttons and other supplies are offered for sale to the community at rock bottom prices during this weekly fundraiser for the Senior Center. 894-4826.
~ 46th annual Cloverdale Tree Lighting Ceremony begins at 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 7 in the Downtown Plaza. Co-sponsored by the Cloverdale Chamber of Commerce and the Cloverdale Lions Club, with tree and street lighting provided by the City of Cloverdale, the event will include choral and band music, refreshments, and of course Santa, who will be available for pictures. 894-4470.
~ Bobby Lee and his Wine Country Swing will perform from 6:30 to 9:30 on Friday, June 7, in the Vino di Amore Tasting Lounge, 105 N. Cloverdale Blvd. Wine and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase. No cover charge. 894-6616.
~ The Healdsburg Community Band will present its annual Holiday Concert, featuring music of the season, from 7:30 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 7 in the Citrus Fair Auditorium. Admission is $5. 894-5000.
~ The Cloverdale Senior Center’s annual Christmas Tea, featuring tidbits, endless pots of tea and toe tapping entertainment by the Stevens Sisters, begins at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8 at 311 N. Main St. The Stevens Sisters Barbershop Quartet will perform selections of familiar songs from the 30’s, 40’s and 50’s. Requested donation is $30 for Senior Center members and $35 for non-members. 894-4826.
~ The Cloverdale Historical Society invites the community to celebrate Gingerbread Christmas from 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8, featuring free horse & carriage rides, storytelling by Susan Lile, scavenger hunts for the youngsters, and tours of the historic gingerbread Gould-Shaw House at 215 N. Cloverdale Blvd., as well as cookies, hot chocolate and mulled wine. No admission. 894-2067.
~ A Christmas musical entitled “The True Meaning of Christmas” will be presented at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8 at First Baptist Church, 450 S. Franklin St. Refreshments will be served following the performance. No admission. Everyone is welcome. 894-3274.
~ A rich mix of swinging blues, country and rock will be on the menu from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8 at Ruth McGowan’s Brewpub, 131 E. First Street, when The Blenders take the stage. Adding to the mix of music genre are powerful vocals, a dynamic rhythm and guitar, and guitar, harmonica and sax harmony lines as they play covers and originals. No cover charge. 894-9610.
