Free gardening workshop

Cloverdale's Community Garden is conveniently located right downtown.

Have you ever wanted to learn about extending your garden’s growing season into the fall and even winter?

If so, plan to stop by the Cloverdale Community Garden, 205 S. Cloverdale Blvd., on Friday, August 19 from 9 to 10:30 a.m.

Three Master Gardeners will be offering a free workshop with hints and tips, including the importance of observing calendar dates for planting in order to enjoy a successful harvest through the fall, winter and early spring.

Organizers say, “We have a great climate for growing year-round here in Cloverdale so we hope people will join us to learn how to get started. They could be harvesting their own kale by Christmas.”

For more information or to register, please call the Senior Center at 894-4826, and, as always while at the garden, be sure to wear sturdy shoes and a sun hat, and bring a bottle of water.
