Ceramic artists open Cloverdale home studio for holiday shopping

Alan Podesto personally throws each piece.

Looking for a gift that’s special and unique this holiday season, while treating yourself to a behind-the-scenes look inside an artist’s studio?

Alan and Donna Podesto are opening their Cloverdale home studio at 586 School Street each day through Thursday, December 23, offering one-of-a-kind pottery to fill all your gift-giving needs.

Each piece is wheel thrown by Alan and hand decorated by Donna, making every one unique. The pottery is high-fired stoneware, which means it is completely lead free and safe for dishwashers, ovens and microwaves.

This beautiful water cooler is only one of the Podestos' many designs.

Their product line includes Dinnerware, Gardenware, Housewares, Wineware and Raku. The brilliant colors they produce from their hand crafted glazes make the Podestos’ work easily recognizable.

Choose from a wide variety of items, including bowls, plates, goblets. mugs, candle holders, pitchers, cookie jars, tea pots, flower pots and more. They even have a beautiful water cooler with a brass spigot available.

Holiday studio hours are 10:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Enjoy apple cider and cookies while you browse their large selection, and then take 10% off on all in-studio purchases.

Visit their website at www.architecturalceramicdesign.com for more information or give them a call at (707) 894-5714

I love the Podesto family’s pottery studio! One, their pottery is well crafted and lovely. Two, they will make custom items (as they did with a water jug my husband had long wanted). Three, they are warm, talented, creative artists. Truly, their shop is a hidden jewel of Cloverdale and Sonoma County.

Thanks so much for the reminder about the pottery studio…Roz read it &
we just went there & bought a wonderful gift for a dear friend about whom
we were wracking our brains since we wanted to get something unique and
yet suitable for a gourmet chief with exquisite taste, a home to die for
and a heart of pure gold…

We got a really cool looking bowl for cooking garlic dishes, marinating,
etc., along with recipes for him to try.

I had heard about the studio & Alan & Donna from other friends but it
slipped my mind. What a fabulous place and when we visited the open studio Donna was just a delight–even got a tour of the work area
where the kilns and pottery await painting and finishing…this is no
    hobby pottery place, it’s incredible.

The service was far better than most fancy stores we could have visited,
the prices are very reasonable (there is a sale on, too!), the selection
of colors and styles amazing, and if you can’t find something for the
hard-to shop-for gardener, cook, newly wed, decorator, coffee/tea addict,
candle fan, etc., etc., on your list…well, you may need to find new
    friends.
